Drama is taught on a weekly basis in years 7-9. Pupils study a combination of Drama strategies, such as Mask theatre, perform a range of play texts and also explore a variety of social issues. Drama lessons are great for building confidence and developing co-operative skills and students can work together in groups to understand the drama form and use drama strategies to create their own characters and scenes. Learning is creative and pupils are encouraged to share their performance work with their peers in lessons.

At The Regis School, pupils can choose to study drama at GCSE. The GCSE course involves the development of a wide range of practical drama skills, supported by review and evaluation written work. The GCSE finishes with a formal performance and practical examination which is externally assessed.

Pupils who wish to study drama at a higher level can take A level theatre studies. This course enables pupils to excel in a range of dramatic performance situations and encourages broad understanding and analytical thinking. Students who take the A level theatre studies course at The Regis School often go on to study the performing arts at university.

The fully equipped drama studios at The Regis School have lighting, sound and staging technologies which support professional quality performances in the building, providing the opportunity for pupils to experience a realistic theatre setting.

A range of clubs and additional performance opportunities to use these facilities are offered to pupils from all year groups who study drama. A weekly drama club is led by sixth formers who are able to share a high level of skills with pupils from key stage three and they frequently perform to public audiences as part of performing arts events.
