photographywboarderAt The Regis School, pupils are offered the opportunity to study GCSE and A level Photography. The Photography courses serve the interests of creative and technically minded students alike, opening up the possibility of careers in free lance photography, journalism, art and design and marketing. Both the GCSE and A level courses incorporate a wide spectrum of subject matter, ranging from more traditional photography through to digital imaging including film and video.

Pupils learn to interpret a range of different themes developing, recording and presenting these findings within journals, as well as going beyond the traditional flat print and exhibiting work through montage, 3D construction. A range of different photographers and artists are studied to inspire pupils and develop independent learning within the subject. Photography is taught in the multi-media rooms, the open plan arts space and the dark room. State of the art technology is highly prevalent in the photography department, including green screen and visualisation technology and pupils are encouraged to explore resources and stimulus beyond the school to inform their creative work.
