Gifted and Talented
The provision for able pupils is to be found within the classroom, however, the opportunities for able and committed pupils at The Regis School are outstanding. Pupils are invited to attend after school master classes in a range of activities from Textiles to Dance. We run a full and varied out of hours programme with many focuses on extending the most able pupils. Selected able pupils are involved in the Widening Participation Project, which focuses on study skills and university life. Enrichment courses are popular, as we have had success in placing many of our able students onto summer school weeks and weekend experiences. Able pupils are involved in termly projects such as the shadowing ‘Carnegie Club’ for the best children’s author. Heads of House and Pastoral Managers also have regular contact with our gifted and talented students, encouraging them to engage in a wide range of activities. All activities are intended to enhance the able pupils experience of school life.
Some examples of activities available to Gifted and Talented students are:
Maths Challenge Club

Each term Challenge Club members are also invited on a trip that will support the work completed during the after school sessions. Trips to date include, The Weald and Downland Museum (Medieval Maths), Southdowns Planetarium (Time Space and Distance) and Explosion Museum
