At The Regis School we are fully committed to the underlying principle of inclusion that all students are entitled to a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum, promoting a collective responsibility that values diversity and equality of opportunities for all individual needs.

 

The Special Education Needs Team consists of a dedicated highly skilled team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants who promote independent learning and endeavour to ensure that for students with special educational needs:

 

  • There is commitment to flexible and creative responses to individual needs,
  • There is recognition that inclusion is the responsibility of all staff and it embedded within the organisation of the college
  • we create accessible and effective learning conditions, enabling students to demonstrate progression within statutory requirements.
  • All college developments and policies take into account, inclusive principles

 

There are common procedures for identification, assessment and providing support

 

  • Parents (carers) and students are included in discussions relating to SEN and plan appropriate action with them
  • The Governing Body make suitable arrangements for students with SEN
  • The college works collaboratively with local authority officers, appropriate professionals and external agencies
