Stepping Stones Day Nursery is a Neighbourhood Nursery situated within the grounds of The Regis School. We are divided into two buildings. The baby unit has two rooms and a sensory room for all ages. The Caterpillar Room aged 3 months to rising 2’s, The Bumble Bee Room rising 2’s to rising 3 years olds. The nursery unit has two rooms, The Ladybird Room rising 3’s to rising 4 year olds and The Butterfly Room rising 4’s to 5 year olds. Each unit has an outdoor play area which enables the children to free flow between in and out of doors in all weathers. The nursery also has separate kitchen areas, office, toilets, changing and laundry facilities, and a staff/family room.

Aims
To provide 27 places for children aged from 3 months to 21/2 years and 40 places for children aged from 2 to 5 years.
To provide the local community with high quality affordable, flexible daycare for all children and enable parents to continue with their chosen careers or return to further training if they wish to do so.
Objectives
- To provide a “home from home” atmosphere and maintain a pleasant and safe environment.
- To work closely in partnership and to encourage good communication between parents, families, staff and children.
- To provide interest led activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and principles, through play and sensory activities.
- To provide a fun early years curriculum which children thrive to learn, which encourages a smooth transition to primary school.
- We ensure to cover all 5 areas of Every Child Matters.
Staffing Ratios
1:3 for children 0-2yrs; 1:4 for children 2-3yrs; 1:8 for children 3-5yrs.
The Nursery Manager will be supernumerary to staffing ratios

- EYP (Early Years Professional)
- Nursery Nurses
- Nursery Assistants
- Regular Nursery Supply Staff
Staff Training
The nursery staff take part in regular in-service training, as well as professional training organised by W.S.C.C through the Early Childhood Service. Our aim is to develop and update staff needs to continuously enable us to develop as a nursery providing high quality care.

Opening Times.
Monday - Friday 7.30am – 6pm
The nursery will be closed on Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.
In addition, it will also be closed for 3 working days over the Christmas period. The day will be split into various sessions.
